Rosie Perez
Rosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez June 6, 1964 is an American actress and choreographer. Her breakout moment came with Tina's performance in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance as Tina , in Fearless (1993) earned her nomination for the Academy Award, Best Supporting Actress and other accolades. It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2010) are her starring roles in films.
Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her work in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has also appeared in Broadway productions such as The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. She also hosted The View's 18th season on The View, ABC's talk show. The View.
Early life
Perez was born on the 6th of September 1964 in the Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City and was the daughter of Lydia Perez and Ismael Serrano, a marine merchant seaman. [3][4][5] Lydia Fontanez and her husband, Reyes was her mother. She was born October 13th, 1939 in Humacao. Her father was from Aguadilla in Puerto Rico. Arturo Perez was her mother's 20-year-old husband. Following an affair with the father of Serrano Perez's mother been blessed with five kids. Perez was born in the now closed Greenpoint Hospital, Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Perez is among the ten kids that her mother bore. Rosie and her siblings grew-up in Bushwick at the time that their mother was held in jail. The mother of her child was jailed when she had the birth of her eldest child. After being taken care of by her aunt, she was placed in foster care and group homes. She was often kept apart from her brothers. She was put in the group foster home and she lived in foster care New York until she reached age eight. When she reached the age of 12, she was legaly considered as a ward in New York. Aunt and mother often visited her, and her father had a few times tried to take her custody.
